If one is to fully and completely appreciate a particular poem, one must admit that their is more to the process than simply reading a poem. Next, your authentic voice must enter the Tao. This is natural. To grasp all sides of the poem Intellectuals must also hear the poem with more than the voice of their own mind through the experience of passive listening. One must be able to simply sit on the couch and hear the words of another’s creation have an effect on the totality of their ears an even their eyes, noise, an tongue. Does a poem have a particular look or smell or taste? No, I don’t think so but over time one may become present after a look, taste, or smell becomes present over multiple listenings and readings. Thus a poem may develop a smell and a taste or an appearance. Then, The observer must discuss the poem with other listeners and readers. More meanings for any work of art exist than those meanings that the creator of art had intended at the time of creation. I am talking about the Tao and the infinite relationship between the chicken and the egg. Multitudes of meanings can be created for a particular poem given an always expanding number of listeners and readers and given an ever increasing amount of time that a poem is present for observation through all of our human senses. A sort of miracle happens with great creations of free verse and with great art-the creation of the art becomes more rich and complex in meaning than was ever intended by the creator. A poem may stimulate the senses of the audience in the future always more than today. Let me ask you an important question-What are you but God’s prized artistic creation. From the day she made you, your meaning and value increase towards the infinite. You are even more amazing than God intended. The audience is truly essential in the world of art. The long-term greatness of the artist is deeper and faster as it approaches infinity, the greater the complexity and depth is.
